Tuscany VENUES

10 Gennaio 2022

Hi, hope you spent some beautiful holidays!

Today we’ll present to you the third and last Tuscan venue of this series: Borgo Stomennano.

The tiny village (borgo) of Stomennano is located in the heart of the Chianti region close to Monteriggioni, one of the most famous medieval walled towns of Tuscany.

It is also 15 minutes from Siena and about 40 minutes from Florence, the region’s art-packed capital.

It was built on ancient Etruscan and Roman ruins that are visible to this day, and it is indeed as a Roman outpost that it first appears in written records dating back to 1059. The name Stomennano may be of Etruscan origin, but it most probably derives from the latin “strumentum” of “pacis” after peace treaties stipulated between the local population and the Roman invaders.

Borgo Stomennano is surrounded by woods, vineyards and olive groves, and with its final transformation in 1700 was converted into the holiday residence it remains to this day.

It is included in the list of National Historical Buildings.

An arch connects the two identical buildings of the villa, each of which has a distinct utilization: one, with its large drawing rooms and bedrooms, is the Historical residence, while the other contains the wine cellars that produce Chianti Classico and the ancient barn whose airy spaces are now used for social events hosting up to 200 guests.

All around the Italian-style garden with fountains and antique statues are several buildings of the ancient borgo that once housed the farmers, the workshops, the oil mill and the stables that made Stomennano a self-sufficient village.

Some of these farm houses have been transformed into charming and comfortable apartments that can host up to 38 people.

This unique rural retreat offers countless locations for the ceremony, the reception, the dinner, the preparation of the bride and the groom and all the wedding moments: from the terraced gardens to the romantic garden behind the villa to the infinity pool area facing the vineyard and the Tuscan landscape.

In case of bad weather there are many internal areas too: the ballrooms, the Granary and the Lemon Trees House.

Here are some pictures of wedding moments and special corners of Borgo Stomennano.

Next week we’ll continue our journey through Italy, keep following us!

Have a good week!

Hi everyone!

Hope you are enjoying your holidays, even in this difficult time!

Today we want to introduce you to La Corte dei Papi, a stunning country residence of the 1700s located a few kilometers from Cortona.

It is nestled in a small valley surrounded by the typical suggestive rolling hills of Tuscany that offer peace, tranquility and an amazing scenery.

There is also a large pine forest and grounds of about 2 hectares.

The swimming pool is the frame of the summer restaurant and the protagonist of outdoor events.

The internal area of the restaurant, which once was the old cellar of the residence, includes large rooms with stone walls and exposed wooden beams.

The Renaissance Mirror Room, bright and uniquely decorated, is the perfect place for sophisticated receptions.

The menu offers a wide selection of Tuscan specialities, both modern and traditional. The chef and his staff personally prepare all of the dishes, including the bread, pasta and desserts. The same can be said for the food offered at breakfast.

The Lounge Bar, with its classic and elegant atmosphere, can host parties until 5 a.m. In summer the Lounge Bar opens its doors to the swimming pool, where guests can immerse themselves in the serenity of the gardens while sipping cocktails and letting themselves be pampered by the romantic view of a breathtaking sunset.

The Relais offers 16 accurately restored luxury rooms that still preserve the antique charm of the 18th century, with ancient furniture, fine curtains and linens.

Relais Corte dei Papi is the perfect mix of culture and tradition, luxury and comfort, all immersed in a truly remarkable natural scenery.

As always, if you want to know more, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Our most sincere wishes for a serene 2022, see you soon!

Today we’ll move to Tuscany to talk about Villa Grabau.

It is a charming historic private Villa dating back to the year 1550, located just 7 kilometers from Lucca, one of Tuscany’s most beloved artistic cities.

The building has a neoclassical style that offers the guest suggestions of an unchanged time.

Laid down on the hills, the historic compound of Villa Grabau is surrounded by a 9 hectares botanical park divided in several architectural gardens and dotted with centuries-old trees and true arboreal rarities.

While walking through the park, you will discover the “Limonaia” (Lemon house), an impressive conservatory for XVII century’s lemon trees.

In the “Limonaia”, which has an architecturally striking and fascinating ambiance, it is possible to organize wedding receptions surrounded by the “Ficus pumila” that falls from the majestic ceiling’s beams, creating a unique and incomparable atmosphere.

In the “Teatro di Verzura”, harmoniously proportioned and refined, it is possible to celebrate symbolic and civil ceremonies.

This secluded corner of the Park, defined by box tree hedges, is particularly appreciated by florists, who can create romantic and scenic designs with their floral decorations.

The halls on the ground floor of the Villa are made to host events: two big central halls, from which you can see the whole Park, surrounded by several secluded sitting rooms, beautifully decorated and furnished with period pieces and paintings.

Another area available for a wedding ceremony or a reception plunged in a totally green-coloured scenery is the English Garden behind the Villa.

If you want to spend the night here, 4 exclusive Villas that are part of the estate are located just minutes by foot from Villa Grabau.

“L’Arancera”, the newest and largest one, can accommodate up to 23 people and includes a saltwater infinity pool with hydromassage.

The estate can accommodate a total of 57 people for the night and host weddings with up to 300 guests.

Tying the knot at Villa Grabau is a unique experience: the estate is complete with all the amenities, provides plenty of different spectacular environments and offers endless possibilities to customize your wedding and make it unique.

See you next time for other magical wedding venues!

Wedding in Tuscany: what to expect

11 Dicembre 2021

Cypress alleys, patchwork fields and crumbling castellos. Everyone can picture Tuscany, but it’s not always easy to capture the immensity of the endless waves of green you see with the naked eye, or the timeless quality of ancient stone streets.

The region’s idyllic, lush country terrain, dedication to seasonal food and love of high culture have made it one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in Europe.

With Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Versilia, Maremma and Chianti all within a short driving distance of each other, Tuscany offers the appeal of city to country living, in style.

Tuscany is located more or less in the center of Italy. Renowned for its beautiful coast line towards the Tyrrhenian sea, it has a multifaceted landscape consisting of flat coastal plains, soft rolling hills, oak and Mediterranean pine forested mountains, and long dormant volcanoes.

Tuscany is one of the most loved and adored places in the world due to the fact that it is rich in art, culture, history, amazing nature, and well-preserved traditions. There is plenty to inspire an artist, a historian or a photographer as well as a tourist hungry for art, culture, adventure and food and wine.

Tying the knot here truly is an experience of a lifetime.

If you’ve chosen Tuscany already or are curious about the best tuscan wedding locations (there are plenty!), we’ll get back to you next week with some venues’ presentations.

Have a great weekend!

A breathtaking venue in Tuscany, for your unforgettable wedding in Italy

23 Ottobre 2020

Dear lovely readers!

Hope you are super fine! Today let’s talk about a beautiful wine estate and breathtaking event location with six private residences.

I am talking about the Villa Medicea di Liliano, which takes its name from the Medici rulers of Tuscany, to whose numerous country retreats the villa was joined in the XVII century, and from its location atop the small plateau of Lilliano that rises between the villages of Antella and Grassina to the south of Florence. The Villa di Lilliano is today a luxury country home, keeping the original and historic agrarian function of the villa through the suspended first-floor granary, lemon house and subterranean oil cellar.

Located about 20 minutes from the historic city center of Florence, immersed in olive groves and vineyards; from the terrace, accessible only by a grand stone twin stair once used to climb by carriage lead to the terrace overlooking not only the Florentine countryside but also Florence, you can clearly see the beautiful Brunelleschi’s Cupola of Florence Duomo.

The main villa is composed by an amazing Italian garden where it is possible to have the ceremony , to dine or for the cocktails. Next to the garden there is a beautiful orangery, where it is possible to enjoy a cocktail or to dance!

So if you like Tuscany, Florence and you love history and architecture but at the same time you love hills, the coutryside and olive trees this is a perfect venue for you. All this at the same time!Imagine what a perfect wedding in Italy staying at the Villa Medicea di Liliano!

If you wish more info I am here for you!

Have a wonderful weekend! Lots of love Elisa
